The Gobi Desert & Terelj National Park

This excellent Mongolia tour offers a brilliant introduction to this extraordinarily beautiful country, covering the nation’s capital Ulaanbaatar, famous Gobi Desert and spectacular Terelj National Park and visits to Mongolian nomadic families for authentic cultural experience and interactions.
Located in the landlocked plateau of Central Asia between China and Russian Siberia, Mongolia is the 19th largest country in the world. Thus, Mongolia’s considerable size includes a great range of pristine landscapes and a nomadic people whose lives are unaffected from the days of Genghis Khan.
Landscape and cultural sightseeing blend easily in Mongolia – you will have the chance to visit families of nomads, remote Buddhist monasteries and traditional events, and to take part in horse-riding or guided walking if you wish – there are also endless opportunities for photography.

Day 1. Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, enjoy a half day city tour of the nomadic capital: including the Genghis monument on the Sukhbaatar Square, Gandan Monastery & National Museum of Mongolia. Stay overnight at luxury Blue Sky Hotel or similar. L/D

Day 2-4. This morning we take the flight to the Gobi Desert (1.5 hr), upon arrival visit the Glacial Gorge of Yoliin Am, Mongolia’s largest sand dunes so called the Singing Dunes: enjoy camel riding, nomad family visiting and exploring dinosaur remains at the Flaming Cliffs. Stay at a luxury Ger camp for 3 nights. B/L/D

Day 5-6. Flight back to Ulaanbaatar, upon arrival transfer to luxury Terelj Hotel in spectacular Terelj National Park for a 2 night stay. Visit the Temple of Meditation and Turtle Rock as well as the Mongolia’s biggest landmark Giant Genghis Monument. Horse riding, archery and hiking available upon request. B
