Now that we are home in Thailand, we want to thank you for all of your help in arranging our Jewels of Mongolia tour this past month. We had an absolutely fantastic time, from beginning to end, on our recent trip to Mongolia. We could not have been more pleased and impressed with their constant attention to detail and comfort for their guests. We had so many good belly laughs with our tour group they made this trip a dream come true.
Ulgii, Bayan Ulgii province Kazakhs are renowned for their unique and extraordinary skill in using Golden Eagles to hunt small prey. The Golden Eagle Festival is organized in order to help revive this remarkable tradition and promote it among the younger generations in an effort to balance the preservation of Mongolia’s past traditions.
The Naadam festival is the biggest celebration of test of courage, strength, dexterity, and marksmanship of Mongol nomads. Naadam takes place on 11-12 July and features "Three Manly Sports": wrestling, horse racing and archery. The festival originated from the era of Khunnu Empire and was originally organized as a competition to test the skills of Mongolian Warriors of different tribes.

This month's featured accommodation is Steppe Nomads tourist ger camp in serene Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve, only 2hr drive from Ulaanbaatar. The nomadic style eco camp offers 24 roomy and comfortable Mongolian gers, along with tasty dishes and a good range of wine and a great range of activities.
